Looking at the animation pipeline, I'm intimidated by the 3D heavy jobs-- like rigging, sculpting, etc., but I'm interested in the background art and the designers who draw the characters before the modelers turn them into 3D forms.
An example of 3D animation that I find incredibly interesting is Jibaro on Netflix.

It has a blend of hyperrealistic animation with exaggerated motions captured from real dancers, with tons of texture. The realism of the natural backgrounds made me think it was a mixture of real footage and animation, but it is all 3D animation. I believe it was rendered in Arnold, a software designed for feature length movies.
